SUMMARY OF THE PRESENTATION MADE BY MR. EDDY DURU, THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK: “EUROPE A MISSION MISUNDERSTOOD” TO NARAC GERMANY IN 2011
TOPIC: RE-EDUCATING AFRICANS ON THE RISKS & DANGERS OF UNPLANNED JOURNEY ABROAD
It was an honor and privilege to be invited by the prestigious organization of Nigeria Association of Religious and Clergy in Germany (NARAC) for a Seminar/Book Presentation.
Are you living your dreams abroad? The Author in his book tried to present the true life of most Africans in Europe and some of the untold stories. The book has also been called breaking the silence by the NCG president. The purpose of every journey must be defined because when purpose is not known, abuse becomes inevitable. Many who travelled abroad were either misinformed or not informed at all. For many, the journey to Europe ended as soon as they entered the aircraft to the world unknown. You can make it anywhere if you have the direction.
It is important to be well informed before anyone sets out for a journey irrespective of once present situation. The Book talked about the real value of life based on the Christian and moral point of view. The unplanned journey that most Africans embarked on has brought pains, depression, loneliness, regret, gray hairs at young age, and worst of all loss of faith in their religious beliefs even when some succeeded in making money through several means.
Many died on the way; some are still stranded while a lot more are languishing in jail.
Some typical stories of those leaving in Europe were narrated in the book and during the presentation as well. Some rigorous and intimidating processes one has to pass through, all the liars, denials, and falsehood that have to be made in other to stay in Europe. The role of our leaders, who travel back and forth Europe and USA, but refuse to rebuild the country and the trust of the citizenry, was also a highlight.
Other important highlights made by the Author were:
Ø Europe has not turned hostile; it’s just not our world.
Ø False image presentation those who live in Europe make when they travel home.
Ø Present the situation the way it is. Be a part of this re-education
Ø Most of our professionals do anything just to remain in Europe because of bad governance.
Ø Marriage which was ordained by God became a game/necessity for almost all foreigners
The Author also called on religious leaders to join in the re-education process by teaching their followers to follow sound doctrine and not driving them into believing that lack of money was a true definition of poverty. What is your definition of poverty and what does money mean to you?
The Author however does not suggest that one should not travel but that one should be better informed before embarking on such a life journey.
Research has proved that the Book: Europe A Mission Misunderstood is the first of its kind. A long silence has been broken. Get a copy today and be better informed. Go to Amazon.com or just Eddy Duru.
Join the re-education process. Everyone has a role to play. Believe in your Country and salvage it.
